Blog, Care Tips, Caregiving, Events

Join us on September 21 for our next Listening Session as  you prepare yourself to learn as much as you can while you apply what you need to be a successful caregiver.

Listening is the ability to accurately receive and interpret messages in the communication process.

Session a period devoted to a particular activity.

This Session’s topic will be  “Long-term Care” where we will be discussing anything from nursing home information to financial care planning. We appreciate everyone who came out for the Listening Session on July 15. Special thank you for representatives from Amerigroup, Relative Caregiver Program, World Financial Group, Women’s Financial Power and VA.

Did you know that 73% of family caregivers who care for someone over the age of 18 either work or have worked while providing care; 66% have had to make some adjustments to their work life, from reporting late to work to giving up work entirely; and 1 in 5 family caregivers have had to take a leave of absence? – Caregiving in the United States;National Alliance for Caregiving in collaboration with AARP.
