November-National-Caregivers-Month

November is coming and along with it brings National Family Caregiver Month! Are you a caregiver? Well if you are we celebrate you! This is your own special month where organizations across the country will recognize the great things that you do. If you are not a family caregiver below are 10 ways to help celebrate someone who takes care of their ill family member or loved one.

  1. Buy them a pass to a movie, comedy club or any type of humorous event. Laughter does well like medicine.
  2. FLOWERS! You know the old saying “Give them flowers while they live”. The colors will encourage and the scents will be pleasing to their senses.
  3. Take a few minutes and write them an encouraging letter or card
  4. Offer to give them a break by taking care of their loved one for them for a couple of hours.
  5. Take them to church or allow them to go
  6. Buy them their favorite CD
  7. Make them a meal
  8. Buy them chocolate. The Endorphins in chocolate work to decrease levels of stress.
  9. Offer to clean their home.
  10. Allow them to vent.
